About:
Even though Debashis’s colours are similar to his twin brother Ashis, his work maintains its identity with vibrating outlines, as also with more gesture and action in the realism he brings into his work. He is concerned with the problems of his generation, their split personalities and desire to keep pace with the change. His interest in textures also takes him to abstraction in nature. However, his struggle to find new ways of paintings with creative surface treatment still continues.
